Mark Dowdle Crowned 2026 Go One More Ultra Champion
In a breathtaking display of mental fortitude and physical endurance, Mark Dowdle has officially been crowned the champion of the 2026 Bare Performance Nutrition (BPN) “Go One More” Ultra.
Dowdle secured the title after an grueling head-to-head battle that lasted into its fourth day, ultimately completing 73 laps for a staggering total of 306.6 miles. His official winning time stands at 64:49:05.
The Final Stand
The race, which began on Friday morning with 169 hopeful runners, narrowed down to a historic duel between Dowdle and Kendall Picado Fallas. The two elite athletes pushed each other through three sunrises and three nights of freezing Texas darkness, shattering previous course records in the process.
The “assist” came in the 73rd hour when Fallas, who fought valiantly for 72 laps (300+ miles), was unable to continue. Under the Backyard Ultra rules, Dowdle had to go out and finish his 73rd lap solo to secure the victory. He did so with the same steady, relentless pace that characterized his entire performance.
A Career-Defining Performance
For Dowdle, this victory cements his status as one of the premier endurance athletes in not just the country, but the world. Dowdle’s performance at the Bare Ranch is a masterclass in the “Go One More” philosophy championed by BPN founder Nick Bare.
